In 1955, the Hiroshima Peace Museum opened its doors to help tell the story of one of the most significant events in modern history: the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. The museum’s objective has always been of promoting peace by exploring the results of the bomb through original photography, lifelike models, recovered items and descriptive explanations.
