The city owes much of its charm to the buildings erected by Denmark's monarchs, and boasts a treasure trove of late-Renaissance and Rococo architecture and is known as the Venice of the North. See the fabled statue of Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid, a symbol of the city and stroll along the old harbor of Nyhavn, lined with cafés, restaurants and 500-year-old gabled houses.

An ideal point from which to explore nearby Berlin, Warnemunde is a popular seaside resort in northern Germany on the Baltic Sea. Stroll down the Alte Strom, a quaint path through the heart of the city, lined with traditional buildings, restaurants, bars and shops and visit the 36m-high Warnemunde Lighthouse offering stuning views of Rostock and the Baltic Sea. Warnemunde is also home to the Teepott (teapot in German), an interesting living example of East German architecture built in the 1960s. Today the Teepott houses various restaurants and a sea voyage exhibition. For beer lovers there’s the Hanseatische Brauerei Rostock which produces the local Rostoker Pils, renowned throughout Germany.
The atmospheric medieval streets and spires of the Old Town blend with modern restaurants, cafés and nightclubs. Boutiques showcasing the best of modern Estonian designers, combined with the city’s artisan traditions, make Tallinn a great place to shop. Visit the St. Isaac's Cathedral and the Palace Square home to the Baroque Winter Palace. Santorini (or Thira) is one of the Cyclades islands in the Aegean Sea. The main streets are busy but the quiet back streets offer a glimpse into everyday life. Explore stunning cathedrals and palaces and take a walk around the impressive Grand Harbour.
Rebuilt after a 1908 earthquake, the Piazza Domo is Messina’s most popular attraction. A monument to the immaculate Madonna, it dates back to the Byzantine Empire. Further attractions include The Regional Museum of Messina which holds significant paintings by Caravaggio, and the Museum of Popular Culture and Music which explores the local ethnomusicological tradition.

The cradle of the Renaissance and home to the Uffizi Gallery which is only rivalled by the Louvre for its collection of Renaissance masterpieces. You can also make your way to the world famous tower of Pisa which took over 177 years to build and has been leaning since construction began in 1173.
