The capital of Queensland, Brisbane is a vibrant city on the banks of the Brisbane River. Browse the many art galleries on the South Bank and the food stalls at Brisbane City Market. Join a free-guided tour of Brisbane City Hall. Visit the world’s oldest and largest koala sanctuary, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, and for coffee, cocktails and independents stores, stop by Fortitude Valley.

Townsville has all the advantages of the coast and the outback. Dominated by the large pink Castle Hill, the town catches beautiful sunsets. Visitors can explore the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef in the aquarium, and stroll along tropical beach and lush gardens in The Strand.

Known as the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, Cairns is a tropical city in North Queensland. Experience the world’s largest reef system with a tour of the Great Barrier Reef. Visit Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park to learn about indigenous Aboriginals. Take the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway for unrivalled views of the lush landscape below and mingle with locals and sample fresh produce at Rusty’s Market.

The charming, town of Alotau is situated on the edge of the bay on the eastern tip of Papua New Guinea. This town is isolated from any other town and relies on sea drops to provide for the locals living here. The province has the richest marine biodiversity life and is a popular destination for people to scuba dive, snorkel and relax on the white sandy beaches. Mountains, rainforests, waterfalls, caves and hot springs all surround this area as well as a deep local history.

Manila is also known as the ‘Pearl of the Orient’ due to its central location along the vital Pacific sea trade routes. Take a taxi ride in a customised Jeepney (former US military jeeps) to Old Manila – see Rizal Park, Manila Cathedral, Fort Santiago, or the medieval Spanish fortress, the walled city of Intramuros. Out of town attractions include ‘shooting the rapids’ at the fabulous Pagsanjan Falls or take a scenic drive past rice fields and fruit orchards up to Tagaytay Highlands, 2,250 feet above sea level.

Hualien is a port gateway to stunning landscapes and spectacular sights. Situated close to the Taroko Gorge in the National Park, this port is ideal for exploring the natural beauty nearby. Visit the National park, home to springs, grottos, waterfalls, towering cliffs and the Eternal Spring Shrine, a fascinating Shrine set in the heart of the cliffs with a waterfall cascading down from it.

Taipei has a great variety of restaurants with affordable and appealing regional cuisines – from local Taiwanese and regional Chinese dishes to Indian, Japanese and even Italian. Street-vendors offer more temping snacks, and vibrant night markets like the bright and busy Shilin Market sell food, clothing and souvenirs, and open past midnight.
Ishigaki is an island surrounded by protected white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. The island is surrounded by small deserted islands where you can snorkel in the brightly coloured coral among an abundance of marine life. Capital of Japan's southernmost prefecture, Kagoshima faces the Kinko-wan Bay and the Sakurajima Volcano. Visit the Iso-teien Garden laid out in 1660 by the Shimazu lord of the time or one of the city’s many museums, including the Shōkō Shuseikan, next to the Iso Garden, the City Art Museum or the Kagoshima Prefectural Museum of Culture on the site of the former Tsurumaru-jo Castle.

This bustling cosmopolitan city bears the mark of its colonial past in its fascinating architecture. A mixture of ancient mosques, historic synagogues, antique Portuguese houses and decaying residences of the British Raj, there is plenty to explore. The distinctive Chinese fishing nets at the harbour have become a symbol of the city.

- Osaka is the main gateway to the historical sites of Kyoto and Nara and is a city filled with rich heritage. The city is home to many museums, stunning shrines, temples and Osaka castle.
