Your holiday begins in beautiful Adelaide, South Australia’s cosmopolitan coastal capital. Savour a two-night hotel stay in this incredible city which boasts a wealth of both cultural and natural delights to delve into. Enjoy an indulgent day out, exploring the rustic sights of the renowned Barossa Valley and sampling some of this fabulous region’s acclaimed food and wine during a tour.

Following your stay, you’ll embark on a ferry journey to Kangaroo Island, home to a plethora of nature-based activities. During a two-day tour of this magnificent island, you’ll enjoy encounters with koalas and majestic birds of prey as well as the kangaroos the island is named after. You’ll also get to experience some of the famously picturesque landscapes this region has to offer.

Next, you’ll embark the paddlewheeler PS Murray Princess, for your unforgettable cruise along the beautiful historic Murray River. Wind through the serene waters between Walker Flat and Murray Bridge as you drink in the spectacular riverlands, admiring the views of the ever-changing flora and fauna. Highlights of your three-night adventure include close encounters with river birdlife on board the ‘Dragon-Fly’ boat, marvelling at the astounding landscapes during a nature walk and savouring fantastic flavours of this famous region.

Disembarking back in Mannum, you’ll then transfer to port where you’ll embark P&O Pacific Explorer, a stunning vessel filled with exciting entertainment, 12 dining options and impeccable music venues.

Cruising west, along the Great Australian Bight, you’ll arrive in Albany, known for its beaches, rugged coastline and serene waterways. Here you could uncover history in the National Anzac Centre – a fascinating museum brimming with immersive exhibitions from World War 1. Busselton, your final destination, boasts the longest timber-piled jetty in the southern hemisphere. Wander the nearly 2km distance to the Underwater Observatory where you could witness the majestic marine life hidden within a colourful coral reef.

Today, you’ll enjoy a tour of Kangaroo Island. Aside from its beautiful wildlife, the island is also renowned for its thriving food and wine industry. Visit the incredible Raptor Domain for an exciting “In-Flight” Birds of Prey display, followed by a stop at the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery. Next, you’ll head to Clifford’s Honey Farm where you’ll sample homemade honey ice cream. You’ll then stop at the award-winning Kangaroo Island Spirits for a spot of gin-tasting. Leaving Kangaroo Island behind, today you’ll return to Adelaide for a further hotel stay. Enjoy a day at leisure to explore Adelaide, a city that’s bursting with culture, flavours and entertainment. Escape to Glenelg and discover the delights of this charming town as you explore the historic landmark of the Glenelg Town Hall. Admire the beauty of the grand main entrance and climb to the top of the tower for panoramic views of the ocean and picturesque surroundings. Close by, you’ll find the Pioneer Memorial, erected in 1936 to represent four of the biggest colonists that came out here.

Murray River Cruise

In 1879, the first bridge to span the mighty Murray River was built at Edwards Crossing, which quickly became the bustling township of Murray Bridge. Following a hearty breakfast, you’ll embark on a guided tour of Murray Bridge and explore the town’s historic Roundhouse. The unusual hexagonal shaped historical residence captures the history of this remarkable region and enhances magnificent views of the river. Back on board, you’ll enjoy a special presentation of the bounty of food and wine produced in the Riverland and continue your journey upriver where you’ll moor at Salt Bush Flat.

Murray River Cruise

This morning, you’ll enjoy a spot of exercise as you join your guide for a nature walk around the spectacular scenery of Salt Bush Flat, learning the secrets of the local flora and fauna. Back on board, you’ll head downriver to River View Lodge where you’ll embark on a wildlife tour. In small groups, you’ll wind through the maze of river and observe the majestic views of river birdlife, including darters, herons and egrets before enjoying an afternoon of bocce or fishing challenges. Savour a final night celebration of the farewell Captain’s Dinner and Dance.
