Darwin - Hotel Stay
The capital of Australia’s Northern Territory is blessed with a cosmopolitan mix of culture and stunning natural scenery. Explore the busy markets for food, music and culture, or get active with rugby, cricket, basketball and Aussie-rules football. You could also sunbathe at the beautiful Casuarina Beach or venture outside the compact city centre and escape to the Kakadu National Park, Australia’s biggest national park where you can see Aboriginal rock art dating back 20,000 years.

Darwin – Hotel Stay & Litchfield National Park Tour

Litchfield National Park contains several types of typical Top End habitats including lush monsoon forests, unusual rock formations, waterfalls and cascades. Walk up to the giant termite mounds, travel on Tolmer Falls for magnificent views of the water cascading down to the deep waterhole at the base of the falls, view the breathtaking scenery and catch a glimpse of the local wildlife. To finish the day, you’ll join a cruise on the Adelaide River to spot crocodiles and other wildlife, before heading back to Darwin.

Your journey begins with a morning departure from Darwin. Settle into your comfortable private cabin and admire the view outside your window as it begins its smooth and spectacular transformation. Enjoy lunch in the Queen Adelaide Restaurant, full of culinary wonders before arriving at the Top End township of Katherine. Choose between a relaxing cruise through Nitmiluk Gorge’s ancient natural wonders and exploring the region’s rich indigenous culture or enjoy a day of discovery on a huge cattle station. Following an enchanting dinner as the sun sets over the outback, you’ll return to the train for your first night on board.

After your first night, you’ll be greeted by a morning view of the spectacular Red Centre. Watch as the sun rises over the endless outback, one of the most spectacular views of a lifetime. Following breakfast, a full day of Off Train Experiences awaits you in the outback town of Alice Springs. With the opportunity to indulge in one of the included off train experiences, you'll have ample time to discover everything on offer. Come evening, you’ll tuck into a delectable dinner at the historic Telegraph Station and soak in the captivating views of the star-scattered black velvet sky.

Enjoy a morning stop at the outback outpost of Manguri. Here you’ll venture into the weird and wonderful opal mining township of Coober Pedy, where more than half the residents live underground. Relish a day of discovery and tuck into a delicious gourmet lunch in the most unique of locations: underground. Dinner is served back on board the train, where you can converse with your fellow passengers and savour a delicious nightcap as your journey continues into the night.

Adelaide - Disembark The Ghan Expedition & Hotel Stay
Awaken to see the dramatic change in landscape, as the deep ochre tones of the outback make way for the rolling hillsides of South Australia. Enjoy a leisurely brunch as you pass through the majestic Flinders Ranges and prepare for your arrival into Adelaide, where you’ll disembark for a hotel stay. Its vibrant 19th century Central Market bustles with the citizens hunting for fresh produce. If you want to explore more of Australia’s natural beauty, you could travel to Mount Lofty to look down on the sprawled city and the soft blue blanket of the ocean.
