Perched on a peninsula jutting out into the Indian Ocean, Broome is a magical place set around white sands, cobalt-blue waters and red rocks. And it’s here where you’ll spend three nights to kick off your adventure. Visit Cable Beach for rolling sandy dunes where a procession of camels strolling along the shoreline at sunset provides a wonderful sight. An unforgettable seaplane tour to take in the majestic Buccaneer Archipelago, Horizontal Waterfalls and Cape Leveque, including the mining islands of Koolan and Cockatoo, landing at Australia’s oldest family-owned and operated pearl farm at Cygnet Bay for a delicious lunch and tour before returning to Broome.

You’ll then transfer to Kununurra in the Kimberley region, an area boasting unspoilt wilderness, rare fauna and a colourful history. Savour an enchanting sunset dinner cruise of Lake Kununurra and take a scenic flight over Lake Argyle and the Bungle Bungle Range to land in the heart of Purnululu National Park. Here you’ll meet your friendly guide for an immersive tour of the famous domes, Cathedral Gorge and Picaninny Creek. An exciting 4-wheel-drive will take you through the vast expanse of this sprawling park.

Your adventure continues with a flight to Darwin, where you’ll have some time to delve into its delights at your own pace. From quirky markets to the sound of the didgeridoo played in the streets, Darwin is a curious blend of cultures.

The captivating landscapes of Kakadu and Katherine then await which you’ll get to explore during a series of tours. Savour a cruise on the Adelaide River before travelling to the Kakadu National Park where you’ll really get to immerse yourself in the country’s wilder side. It’s home to saltwater crocodiles and hundreds of other species, while the Warradjan Cultural Centre provides an insight into the practices of the indigenous Bininj people. A cruise on the Yellow Water Billabong is another highlight, taking you into the heart of this wildlife-rich wetland.

Near the town of Katherine, cruise through the billion-year-old sandstone of Katherine Gorge where you could treat yourself to a hand-made souvenir made by the local Jawoyn people, before your return to Darwin.

With its colonies of flying foxes chattering in the trees and processions of camels walking along Cable Beach at sunset, Broome, on the wonderful Kimberley Coast, is an intriguing town. Once known for its pearling industry, it’s now a popular destination during tourist season when the number of residents grows by thousands. Nearby Roebuck Bay is well known for its ‘Staircase to the Moon’, a rare natural optical illusion that sometimes occurs when the tide is receding.

Take a scenic flight from Kununurra that takes you over Lake Argyle, Argyle Diamond Mine, Ord River and the Bungle Bungle Range where you’ll savour the stunning aerial of the area. You’ll land in the Purnululu National Park and meet your tour guide and an air-conditioned 4WD bus for a journey further into the park. You’ll then take a guided walk through the beehive domes of the Bungle Bungle Range. Kakadu - Hotel Stay & Tour

Today you’ll enjoy a cruise on the Adelaide River where you might come across a crocodile or two. You’ll then travel into Kakadu National Park, home to a huge range of animals and colourful bird species. The combination of mangrove fringed coastal areas, expansive flood plains and open woodland, make Kakadu one of the most diverse landscapes you’ll ever experience. Enjoy lunch here before paying a visit to the Bowali Visitor Centre. Continue to Ubirr, a site known for its ancient Aboriginal rock art galleries. You’ll have a superb view over Kakadu from this area.

At the Nourlangie rock art site you’ll discover a spot that has provided shelter to the local Aboriginal people for millennia. Visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre for a fascinating insight into the local Bininj culture then savour the dramatic scenery on a cruise that takes you to the Yellow Water Billabong, Kakadu’s most famous wetland, where saltwater crocodiles lurk, as well as an abundance of avian species. This afternoon, you’ll travel to Katherine, the third largest town in the Northern Territory, stopping at the idyllic setting of Leliyn, also known as Edith Falls, along the way.

A cruise through Katherine Gorge is like travelling through time - this awe-inspiring network of thirteen gorges is carved from billion-year-old sandstone. Taking you into the heart of Katherine Gorge among freshwater crocodiles and incredible birdlife, you’ll witness some of the most amazing scenery that the Northern Territory has to offer. View the displays at the Nitmiluk Visitor Centre, where you may learn about the traditions of the Jawoyn people and pick up a hand-crafted souvenir. Making your way back to Darwin, you’ll call at the historic gold mining town of Pine Creek and Adelaide River War Cemetery.
