Your Itinerary

Rome is often described as being the world’s biggest open air museum - The Vatican's Sistine Chapel, St Peter’s Basilica, the Colosseum, and the Trevi Fountain where a tossed coin promises your return to the Eternal City. Take a walking tour of its many historical landmarks and enjoy the food, the culture, the ambience, and the surrounding scenery. There is no doubt you'll learn the meaning of la dolce vita (the sweet life) when you visit Rome.

For sheer excitement, either in a show lounge, at your restaurant table, or playing on the water slides, there are few ships at sea to match the sensational Norwegian Getaway. Fabulous food from Europe, Asia and the Americas makes the perfect start to a glittering evening, which may include the Tony Award-winning musical, Legally Blonde, or the high-energy dance extravaganza, Burn the Floor. Families travelling with younger passengers will love the splash parks, themed entertainment and dedicated activities for kids of all ages, including the largest rope-walk and fastest water slide at sea. For adults, there’s the Vibe beach club, the Waterfront promenade and brilliant sports facilities and organised events.

The cradle of the Renaissance and home to the Uffizi Gallery which is only rivalled by the Louvre for its collection of Renaissance masterpieces. You can also make your way to the world famous tower of Pisa which took over 177 years to build and has been leaning since construction began in 1173.

Rubbing shoulders with movie stars is the image you get whilst in Cannes but this gracious city, with the palm-lined Boulevard de la Croisette’s divine beaches, is more than that - it is also the gateway to Monaco and Monte Carlo. Also take time to venture into the old quarter of Le Suqet and head up the winding cobbled lane lined with charming local restaurants and the gorgeous medieval church.

The cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region is known for its art and architecture. Fantastic landmarks like La Sagrada Familia and Park Guell, designed by Antoni Gaudi, dot the city; giving you a taster of the creativity entwined throughout this fabulous city. Stroll through Las Ramblas, the walkway at the heart of the city, indulge in some traditional tapas or enjoy a glass of sangria as you overlook the stunning sea views.

A Mediterranean city and naval station located in the Region of Murcia, southeastern Spain, Cartagena’s sheltered bay has attracted sailors for centuries. The Carthaginians founded the city in 223BC and named it Cartago Nova; it later became a prosperous Roman colony, and a Byzantine trading centre. The city has been the main Spanish Mediterranean naval base since the reign of King Philip II, and is still surrounded by walls built during this period. Cartagena’s importance grew with the arrival of the Spanish Bourbons in the 18th century, when the Navidad Fortress was constructed to protect the harbour. In recent years, traces of the city’s fascinating past have been brought to light: a well-preserved Roman Theatre was discovered in 1988, and this has now been restored and opened to the public. During your free time, you may like to take a mini-cruise around Cartagena's historic harbour: these operate several times a day, take approximately 40 minutes and do not need to be booked in advance. Full details will be available at the port.

A gateway to so many Andalucian attractions and Costa del Sol resorts, Spanish port of Málaga stands out in its own right as a vibrant destination with its own unique character. Rising high above the city with spectacular views, are the ruins of the 14th century Moorish castle, and Malaga-born Picasso is recognised with a history of the artist’s life at the city’s fascinating Picasso Foundation.

In Cadiz you enter another world of different cultures brought together. La Giralda the beautiful Gothic cathedral, is in Sevilles historic Jewish quarter Santa Cruz which also has the whitewashed houses and exquisitely coloured bougainvillea that everyone associates with this lovely city. Try walking the narrow lanes to find hidden gems along way before stopping for some locally made wine and tapas.

Lisbon is a stately city of Neoclassical buildings and wide plazas. Eternally linked to the sea, Lisbon's magnificent harbour is spanned by the longest suspension bridge in Europe. Other landmarks include the World Heritage Sites of Belém Tower and Jerónimos Monastery, both built in Lisbon's native Manueline architectural style.

Located on the subtropical island of Sao Miguel in the mountainous Azores, Ponta Delgada was founded in the 15th Century by Portuguese and Flemish sailors. The island is home to some spectacular scenery including volcanic lakes, emerald forests and rocky headlands. You can drive out to nearby villages and natural wonders or stay to explore Ponta Delgada with its black-and-white tiles, whitewashed buildings and excellent seafood restaurants.

Explore Bermuda’s rich maritime history at the Royal Naval Dockyard. A lively port for cruise ships, this major attraction is home to artists, artisans and the Bermuda National Museum.

With icons from popular culture at every turn, from the Statue of Liberty and the neon lights of Broadway to Fifth Avenue's Museum Mile and Central Park's walkways, New York is the perfect destination to enjoy an activity-packed break. See where millions first stepped ashore at Ellis Island, visit the Empire State Building and Times Square or just enjoy a cream cheese bagel in Central Park.
